Hi webquest team...

Have you seen the webquest/task that Colleen has setup for us to do? I saw it on the wikispaces as well as the my.tafe pages and thought an email might be a good way to get connected initially and decide what tool we what to use to collaborate. I'm quite happy to use the my.tafe forum rather than yet another tool/website. We'll need to decide how to approach the task, guessing either each do our bit and come together at the end or all contribute to each of the topics, what do you think?
I'm going to repost this to the forum and encourage you all to reply there rather than in the email. That'll give Colleen (and the rest of the group) evidence of our progress.
Chat soon...

Leanna and I had a brief discussion at todays webconference.
- We agreed that this my.tafe forum will be the spot to communicate/upload
- Each person will choose a topic, I will collate into a single document/presentation when done
- Leanna is going to do accessibility as it relates to her project with a possible outcome being a checklist for the suitability of online materials for rural/remote students
Sent out an email to our webquest team this morning and copied it here. Hoping we'll use this as a collaboration space

Hi Group, apologies for not being able to attend last meeting. However, if no one has chosen 'online group work in a virtual team', I'm happy to research that topic.

I think I'll grab the copyright subject while it's still available. I think we should reply here and keep the conversation all in one thread. Not too concerned about the format you do your part of the report in. Word or powerpoint probably what we are most comfortable with and can easily be pasted into another format.

Hi Leanna,If you click on the DC-LP Collaboration Strategies button on the left of the my.tafe navigation, then WebQUest/Design Project you'll see the details. I see Sarah has chosen the equity topic, leaves only 2 on the list. Let us know by a reply which one you are keen to look at.

I have attached a ppt with an idea for presentation method and name. What do you think of DiSJoinT? You'll need to look at the ppt to see that if you turn JL upside down it looks like a T and is then made up of the letters of our names..... We'll also need a "transformed" name for the end of the presentation, another play on words/letters but with a positive, connected spin. The ppt is meant to be run and navigated through, start the presentation (F5 when in powerpoint) and click on buttons to navigate. If we want to get fancy (or don't want to stand up in front of the group) we can add audio as narration. Then it can be handed out as a weblink/download and worked through at their own pace, good example of digital content in blended delivery?

Any comments/feedback, leave here and I'll make the changes.

Hello All, As in one of the I Connect sessions I mentioned to David that I was happy to research accessibility. As most of my Hairdressing students are in rural areas. Am I on the right track thinking that our ideas are to map together for one project, as we are choosing each a topic. Or is it ok that I research e learning tools that will assist with delivery and assessing of external students? Well that is what I will do and when we come together next I should have some info. Thanks.
David Martin - Mon, 14 May 2012, 10:29
I think we can all do our own research and bring it together into 1 document.
If you get a page or so of notes I'll put it into our powerpoint. Another thing I'd like to do is get an audio recording of some of the info, but I'll let you know what when I put the content on the powerpoint.

Hi all, Attatched are some bullit points for the powerpoint, the layout looks good David. I have more research collated with the help of our librarian. Most of the research is from America but I believe the principles in the bullit points are similar to what we want to achieve here in Australia. Some of the research is about computers in schools and the problem now is not getting the computers but what software is available and how much computer training teachers are getting. I want to also read up about broadband in Australia and how far it has reached so far. Bye for now Sarah J p.s Having a think about the word play !
